Georgia football and Kirby Smart are off and running on the recruiting trail with the class of 2026. It is still very early, but Georgia's 2026 recruiting class currently has four commits and is the No. 13 class in the country.
Obviously No. 13 is nowhere near good enough for Georgia, but with a year to go in this recruiting cycle it is nothing to be concerned about. There is especially nothing to be concerned about because Steve Wiltfong with On3 reported that Georgia hosted three of the nation's top players this past weekend.
Georgia football played host to three elite recruits this weekend
While Georgia is gearing up for their upcoming College Football Playoff game against Notre Dame, Smart and his staff are still working extremely hard on the recruiting trail and bringing in some of the top players in the country.
This includes linebacker Tyler Atkinson, who is a five-star player in the 2026 class, top ranked linebacker and No. 7 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Atkinson is a really exciting target to follow as he is an in-state kid who currently has a prediction on 247Sports to commit to Georgia.
Another five-star player in Kaiden Prothro was also in Athens over the weekend, who is the No. 2 tight end in the country. He also is No. 22 overall player in the country and No. 2 player from Georgia, with Atkinson as the only player ranked above him.
Last but not least is another in-state star in EDGE Khamari Brooks. Brooks is not as highly ranked as the two previously mentioned players, but he is still the No. 153 overall player in the country and No. 11 EDGE in the country.
College football is now entering a recruiting dead period, so there won't be as many recruiting updates going forward. But this was an electric final weekend of visitors for Georgia that consisted of three players who very well could end up committing to Georgia in the future.
