Almost every day now Georgia football fans hear of a new wide receiver that Kirby Smart and his staff are after in the portal. And Georgia has to be this aggressive towards recruiting wide receivers in the portal because of the struggles form this year's unit and how much production they'll lose once this season is over.
The Bulldogs are after a few power four transfer wide receivers already, but Radi Nabulsi with ugasports.com reported that Georgia is going after a talented wide receiver from a lower level of college football.
Idaho WR Jordan Dwyer
According to Sabulsi, Georgia and Smart have made initial contact with Idaho transfer wide receiver Jordan Dwyer.
Dwyer had a solid first two seasons with Idaho, but this past season as a junior was out of this world. He recorded 78 receptions for 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns. It really doesn't matter what level of football that is at, those stats are beyond impressive.
On top of that, Nabulsi shared in the above post that those 12 touchdows is almost equal to the amount that Georgia's top three wide receivers had this season. Again, the level of competition is very different, but this level of production is legit.
At this point Georgia has only initially reached out to Dwyer, and no official offer has been made and no visit has been scheduled either. So it is yet to be seen how aggressively Smart and his staff pursue Dwyer and if he has mutual interest in Georgia or not.
But most recruits typically have even just a little interest in Georgia when the Bulldogs reach out, so there is a very good chance that if Georgia wants him to come on a visit that he will, and then this recruitment could really begin taking off at that point.
