The one position that was by far the biggest letdown for Georgia football this season was wide receiver. The Bulldogs' wide receiver room routinely had issues with dropping the ball, and that was a big reason why the offense was not what it's been in recent years.
So it goes without saying that Kirby Smart and his staff need to address the wide receiver room this offseason. Georgia has an elite group of wide receivers joining the program from the 2025 recruiting class, but UGA needs to get some help from the transfer portal as well. Getting all this talent from the high school ranks is important for the future, but you can't always count on true freshman contributing at the college level, so Georgia could really use an experienced receiver out of the portal that can contribute next year.
Thankfully Georgia has been very active in the portal looking for a receiver, and they once again have been linked with another talented transfer wide receiver from the SEC.
Texas A&M transfer wide receiver Noah Thomas
Noah Thomas is a transfer wide receiver from Texas A&M. Thomas just finished his third season with the Aggies and just had his best season of his career by far. This year he recorded 39 receptions for 574 yards and eight touchdowns.
These stats alone make it obvious why Georgia would be interested in him, and On3's Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong named Georgia one of three teams to watch in this recruitment. They also named Texas and Miami (FL) as teams to watch along with UGA as well.
It remains to be seen if Georgia will reach out and go after Thomas or not, but it would be silly for them not to. Smart and his staff are yet to earn a commitment from a wide receiver out of the portal, so until that happens they should cast as wide of a net as possible to increase their chances of bringing in someone for next season.
