Georgia football makes big splash with commitment from in-state WR

Georgia football and Kirby Smart have not added a new commit to their 2026 recruiting class in quite some time. In fact, the Bulldogs were coming up on two months sine their last commit as safety Zech Fort was the last player to announce his commitment on Jan. 30.

That fact was beginning to make some Georgia fans very nervous, but those nerves no longer exist now that Georgia has officially added their sixth commit to their 2026 recruiting class.

3-star WR Brady Marchese

According to Hayes Fawcett with On3, Georgia has picked up a commitment from three-star wide receiver Brady Marchese.

Marchese is the No. 411 overall player in the country, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 66 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 47 player from his home state of Georgia as well.

Marchese joins Georgia's 2026 recruiting class as the lowest ranked commit so far, but that isn't any reason to not be very excited about him as a player. Smart and his staff have signed a top two recruiting class three years in a row now, so they have proven to be one of the best recruiting staffs in the country. So does anyone think they would waste their time on a player they aren't confident can contribute on the field? Likely not.

Marchese is the second wide receiver committed to Georgia's 2026 class along with Vance Spafford. These two very well could be the only receivers Georgia signs in the 2026 class because they added five receivers last year in the 2025 class. However, there is always a chance UGA could add another receiver, so stay tuned as Georgia fans will have to wait and see how aggressive Smart and his staff are at targeting other receivers in the 2026 class.
