It can sometimes be very difficult to enter the offseason, especially after a season that doesn't end in Georgia football winning a national championship. But that is unfortunately the case for UGA fans this year.

But now that Kirby Smart and Georgia have hosted their first big recruiting event of the offseason, following recruiting has officially become exciting again. There are a lot of big announcements to look out for throughout the offseason from players Georgia is recruiting, and one of those announcements is recruits announcing their top schools.

And two top targets for Smart and his staff just recently announced their top schools, and the Bulldogs made the cut for both.

4-star CB Chauncey Kennon

The first recruit in the 2026 recruiting class to name Georgia as one of his top schools is four-star corner Chauncey Kennon.

Kennon is one of the top players in the entire country as 247Sports ranks him as the No. 31 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 1 corner in his class as well as the No. 6 player from his home state of Florida.

According to Hayes Fawcett with On3, Georgia has officially made the top 10 for Kennon. Miami (FL), Colorado, Florida State, Missouri, Florida, Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M and Ole Miss are the other nine teams to make his top 10 along with Georgia.

No official predictions have been placed in Kennon's recruitment yet, but 247Sports does list Georgia as one of his top schools along with Florida, Miami (FL), Florida State and Michigan. On3 on the other hand names the Gators as the leader in Kennon's recruitment, currently giving them a 26.2 percent chance to win this battle. That percentage is clearly not very high, so all 10 of these teams likely still have a good chance to win this recruitment.

4-star EDGE Cam Brooks

Four-star EDGE Cam Brooks is the second player in the 2026 class to name Georgia as one of his top schools.

Brooks is another highly ranked recruit as the 247Sports composite ranking also has him in their top 100. He is their No. 82 overall player in the country as well as the No. 9 EDGE and No. 10 player from his home state of Georgia.

Brooks recently released his top nine schools, and Georgia made the cut according to Chad Simmons with On3. Auburn, Cal, Miami (FL), Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee also made the cut as well.

247Sports does not name any teams as a leader right now, but the hope is that Georgia has a very good chance as the in-school state in this recruitment. It remains to be seen if that is the case, but this is a recruitment that Georgia fans will want to keep a close eye on going forward.
