Georgia football may have the No. 2 recruiting class in the country right now, but they are far from down recruiting the 2026 class. Recently Kirby Smart dished out another scholarship offer to an elite recruit in the 2026 class, and this offer should make LSU football fans very nervous.

Kirby Smart, Georgia looking to flip elite LSU commit
Georgia made one of their biggest offers on June 28 when they offered four-star offensive tackle Bryson Cooley. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Cooley is the No. 299 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 26 offensive tackle in the 2026 class and the No. 13 overall player from his home state of Mississippi.
The reason this offer is so important for Georgia is because of their lack of success recruiting the offensive tackle position this cycle. So far the Bulldogs have just one offensive tackle committed to their class in four-star Ekene Ogboko. To be fair he is as elite as they come as he is the No. 40 overall player in the country, but Georgia needs more than one tackle in this class.
The only problem with Cooley howeve is that he announced his committment to LSU on July 4. This commitment came six days after Georgia offered him, so it's clear that this offer didn't peak his interest too much.
This commitment doesn't mean that Georgia's chances with Cooley are over though. Smart and his staff will likely do everything they can to start creating a relationship with Cooley so he will give them a chance to flip him. At that point Georgia will need to bring Cooley on a visit to Athens as well.
If all that happens, then there would be a great chance that UGA will be able to flip Cooley from LSU which would turn into one of Georgia's biggest recruiting wins this summer.
