Georgia football has a lot of questions they need to answer heading into next season, but one question they don't need to answer is how talented they are. UGA has a chance to once again win an SEC and National Championship during the 2025 season, so it's just a question of if they will.

The Bulldogs will once again be one of the higest ranked teams in the country heading into the fall. They however will potentially not be ranked as high as Georgia fans might be used to which was seen in ESPN's Way-Too-Early rankings.

Georgia currently No. 5 in ESPN's Preseason Rankings

According to ESPN's current Preseason Rankings, Georgia is the No. 5 team in the country. They fall behind two teams in Ohio State and Texas that are more than fair to be ranked above them. However, the Bulldogs also fall behind Penn State and Notre Dame who are No. 3 and 4, respectively.

Yes there is a good argument to have both of these teams ahead of Georgia, especially the Irish who are one month removed from beating Georgia in the College Football Playoff. But these rankings are forgetting one thing, the Bulldogs still have Kirby Smart on their sideline.

Smart is by far the best coach in all of college football. Georgia also will have one of the most talented rosters in the country next season. Those two things can't be said about either Penn State or Notre Dame, so for that reason alone Georgia should probably be above these two teams.

The good news is that these rankings do not mean a thing right now. It is only February and there is another trasfer portal window where Smart will likely be extremely aggressive as he tries to add more talent to his team. So there is a chance that Georgia will move up in these rankings later this offseason, but UGA will have their chance to prove themselves on the field in the fall as well.
