Georgia football is officially in offseason mode after falling to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. And wile it may feel like it's time to sit back and relax as we wait for next season to get here, Kirby Smart and his staff have to do the exact opposite.

Now is the time when every Georgia football player has to decide what they want to do with their future. This can include entering the transfer portal, declaring for the NFL Draft or deciding to return to Georgia for another season. And with so many players who have a lot of options, UGA was bound to have an extremely busy few days now that their season is over.

And that is exactly what happened over the last two days as Georgia saw 12 major updates occur in their program between Sunday Jan. 5 and Monday Jan. 6.

1. QB Jaden Rashada enters the transfer portal

The first major event that took place in the Georgia football program was quarterback Jaden Rashada entering the transfer portal.

This news was very surprising as Rashada had only been at Georgia for about eight months after transferring from Arizona State last offseason. It was also shocking because now that Carson Beck declared for the NFL Draft, Rashada was going to have a chance to win the starting job this offseason. That however won’t be happening now that he is leaving the program.

The battle to be Georgia’s starting QB next fall will now be between Gunner Stockton and freshman Ryan Puglisi, who reportedly has been very impressive in practice this year. So that will still be an exciting competition to follow even with Rashada no longer part of that battle.
