Georgia football just added one of their best wide receiver recruits in program history in the 2025 recruiting class. That receiver is Talyn Taylor, who is a fringe five-star player and someone that could make an impact for Georgia as soon as next season.

And while Taylor's commitment will always be extremely impressive, there is another receiver in the 2026 class who is ranked even higher that Kirby Smart and Georgia are pursuing.

5-star WR Tristen Keys

Tristen Keys is about as elite of a wide receiver as you will ever find in high school. According to 247Sports, Keys is a five-star receiver and the No. 4 overall player in the country. He also is the top ranked receiver in the 2026 class as well as the No. 1 player from his home state of Mississippi.

Keys recently announced his top 12 schools, and Georgia made the cut according to Hayes Fawcett with On3. Joining Georgia in Keys' top 12 is LSU, Auburn, Alabama, USC, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Florida and Miami (FL).

This group of elite programs makes it extremely obvious that this recruitment will be challenging for Georgia to win. However, the fact that there is a clear leader in this recruitment will make it even more difficult for Georgia to win.

Tennessee is the only program with a crystal ball prediction to win this recruitment on 247Sports. It is just one prediction however, so who knows how accurate that is. 247Sports also lists Alabama and Texas A&M as two other teams that are at the top of Keys' recruitment as well.

The good news for Georgia is that there is plenty of time to move up Keys' list and become one of the favorites to win this recruitment. And hopefully that is exactly what happens because he is a very special player.
