Most people assume that all of Georgia football and Kirby Smart's attention are on two things right now. Getting ready for the College Football Playoff and recruiting the transfer portal. And while those two things are definitely the most important for the program right now, recruiting the 2026 high school class is very important as well.

The Bulldogs just got done signing one of the top recruiting classes in the country for the class of 2025, but there is no time to celebrate as Smart and his staff have to immediately get to work recruiting the next high school class. And by all accounts, they are doing just that.

It will be awhile until a lot of players start committing in this class, but Georgia just received some great news from one of the top tight ends in the country.

4-star tight end Kaiden Prothro

According to On3's Chad Simmons, Georgia is hosting four-star tight end Kaiden Prothro on a visit to Athens this weekend. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Prothro is the No. 25 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 2 tight end in the country as well as the No. 3 player from the state of Georgia.

Prothro being a local kid means that he has visited Georgia a lot in the past, but it is huge news any time a player of his caliber chooses to visit Athens.

On top of this visit announcement, Simmons also reported that Georgia is one of seven schools that Prothro is hearing the most from.

The other six schools currently reaching out to Prothro the most are Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas and Florida State.

Based on these teams alone, it is clear that Georgia has their work cut out for them if they are going to win this recruitment. However, UGA has to feel good about where they stand as of now because it appears they have as good of a chance as anyone to win this recruitment.
