Georgia football is heating up on the recruiting trail as they continue to find a lot of success with some of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class. That trend continued over the last few days as Kirby Smart and his staff received some great news from two elite recruits.
They unfortunately did not receive any commitments, but Georgia was put in two players top schools list which is a huge step in the right direction in their recruitments.
4-star RB Carsyn Baker
The first player to name Georgia as one of their top schools is four-star running back Carsyn Baker.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Baker is the No. 329 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 26 running back in the 2026 recruiting class as well as a top 40 player from the state of Georgia.
Along with Georgia, Baker named Texas A&M, Penn State, Kentucky and South Carolina as the other four schools in his top five. Baker's quote shared in the above post is interesting because he states he wants to play for a team that will compete for national championships every year. And out of these five schools, Georgia is clearly the team that applies to that the most, so hopefully that is good news for UGA throughout this recruitment.
4-star safety Zech Fort
The second player to give Georgia some good news on the recruiting trail is four-star safety Zech Fort.
This recruitment is going to be a lot more difficult to win considering the caliber of player Fort is and the schools he is interested in. According to 247Sports, Fort is the No. 86 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 8 ranked safety as well as the No. 13 player from his home state of Florida.
Fort also named his top schools as well, and Georgia made the cut along with Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, Alabama and Florida State. This recruitment is going to be very challenging for Georgia to win considering who they are up against, but Smart has shown he can beat any team for any recruit, so the Bulldogs will have a great chance to win this recruitment.
