A lot of college football programs are beginning to ramp up their recruitments in the 2027 recruiting class. That is especially the case with Georgia who has begun putting a much larger emphasis on recruiting the 2027 class over the last few weeks.

One recruit in particular is beginning to stand out to Georgia, and that is four-star offensive tackle Joshua Sam-Epelle. And according to 247Sports, he is feeling like a major priority for Georgia.

Georgia looking to make up ground for top Peach State OT

According to 247Sports, Sam-Epelle is the No. 69 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 7 offensive tackle in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 9 overall player from the state of Georgia.

The fact that Sam-Epelle is ranked this high and is from the Peach State makes him a prime target for Kirby Smart and Georgia. However, it appears that South Carolina is the team currently trending in his recruitment.

South Carolina is currently the only team on Sam-Epelle's 247Sports profile that has the "warm" label next to their name. On top of that, the Gamecocks also have a crystal ball prediction in their favor as well.

However, On3 paints a little different picture as they name Georgia as the favorite to win this recruitment. To be fair, On3 only givess Georgia a 20.6 percent chance to win this battle right now, but that is more than every other program pursuing Sam-Epelle.

Sam-Epelle is nowhere near being ready to announce his commitment, but that is a good thing for Georgia. This means Smart and his staff have plenty of time to continue recruiting him and making him feel like a priority. And if that continues to happen throughout the next year, there is a good chance that Sam-Epelle eventually commits to the Bulldogs.
