Georgia football has one of the most difficult schedules in the country this season, but all it took was one week to change who the Bulldogs most difficult opponent will be this season.
And that game is coming a lot sooner than anyone expected.
Georgia's most challenging opponent may just be 2 weeks away
Georgia has the opportunity to play Alabama and Texas again this season. Before the year began, most Georgia fans assumed these two games would be UGA's most difficult test, with the most challenging test of all occurring when Texas comes to Athens for Georgia's SEC finale. That however is not the case after both Texas and Alabama struggled to losses during week one.
Alabama, who Georgia plays during week five, looked horrendous in their 31-17 loss to Florida State while the Texas offense looked pitiful in their 14-7 loss to Ohio State. These two opponents will still be tough for Georgia to beat, but these games look a little easier now after watching both Alabama and Texas lose.
However, Georgia has a new opponent they need to pay close attention to as Tennessee dominated a 10-win Syracuse team in their week one game. The Vols controlled the game all night long en route to their 45-26 victory. New quarterback Joey Aguilar from UCLA also looked very good, even looking much better than former QB Nico Iamaleava did all last season.
Georgia travels to Tennessee in just two weeks for their week three showdown to kick off their SEC schedule. Everyone knew the Tennessee game would be difficult at the start of the season, but the Vols are looking like they may now be Georgia's toughest opponent this season.
So this game has already increased in importance as Georgia's quest to repeat as SEC Champions now depends on this early season battle with Tennessee.
