There are a few freshmen this season that Georgia football fans should expect to see make an impact on the field. However, it can be difficult to predict which freshmen will stand out above the rest every year, but one of the top candidates to do so is tight end Elyiss Williams.

Georgia fans are getting one of their first looks at Williams with fall camp opening up in Athens last week, and Williams' size is something that is hardly ever seen on the football field and almost impossible to believe.

Elyiss Williams is a monster Georgia is waiting to unleash

According to On3's Rusty Mansell, Williams stands at a shocking 6'7''. Mansell also thinks he could even be a little taller than that because he is towering over fellow tight ends Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie.

Based on Williams' size alone, one would expect that it would be impossible for Georgia not to play him this season. But playing as a true freshman at tight end is potentially one of the most difficult things to do in college football.

There are many tight ends who are good enough pass catchers to be able to play at the college level as a true freshman, but the thing that typically holds them back is blocking. Blocking is something every tight end needs to be good at or they will never see the field, so if Williams wants to play a lot this season he is going to have to prove he is a capable blocker.

But if Williams is able to hold his own as a blocker, then the sky is the limit for him. Williams was a top 30 player in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 1 tight end in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. So if there is any freshman tight end in the country ready to play this season, it would be Williams.

Time will tell if Williams makes an impact this season or not, but he could be the perfect player for Kirby Smart to pair with Delp and Luckie who will lead the way for the tight end group this season.
