What does it take to win a football game? The obvious answer is "a lot" because there are about a million things that have to go right each week for Georgia football to emerge victorious.
Thankfully UGA is really good at most of those things, so that is why they win far more often than they lose. But the winning formula for Georgia this season is actually quite simple, and it involves them being a complete team by finding a way to play well during the first half each week.
Georgia's winning formula is as simple as it gets
Georgia has a very good football team. No one needs to be told that, nd this team has shown at times in each and every game just how great they can be. More often than not though they are at their very best in the second half.
The Bulldogs played out of their minds in the second half against Tennessee which heped them crawl back from a 21-7 deficit. Georgia's defense also held Alabama scoreless in the second half which is no small feat either. So it's clear that Georgia knows how to be a great team in the second half, but the same can't be said for the first half.
If Georgia's defense played better in the first half against Tennessee they likely win that game with ease. If they didn't let Alabama score on their first two drives Georgia probably wins that game as well. And if Georgia's offense was more consistent at the start of both games, the Bulldogs are likely still undefeated right now as well.
Saturday's win against Kentucky was the first sign this season of Georgia being a complete team the entire game. Sure it came against the worst team in the SEC, but Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs finally started a game fast and continued to play really well throughout the entire game.
The hope now is that Georgia can do this the rest of the season, and if UGA can find a way to play like they always do in the second half all game long then there may not be a team in the country that is capable of beating them.
