Georgia Football: Series history vs. Ole Miss
Before every game Georgia football plays, it is fun to go back and look at the series history between Georgia and the opponent they are playing. It is especially fun to do this against SEC opponents, because the history is usually very rich and favors Georgia quite convincingly.
To likely no one's surprise, that is the case with Georgia against Ole Miss.
The Rebels however are one of the SEC teams Georgia has played the least over the years considering they used to be in different divisions. But now that the SEC's divisions are gone, the Bulldogs get to play the Rebels for the second season in a row.
So before the game gets here, let's take a quick look at the all time series history between Georgia and Ole Miss.
Georgia holds a commanding lead over Ole Miss
Georgia is about as dominant as they can possibly be against Ole Miss in their series history. The Bulldogs have a 33-13-1 record against Ole Miss, which includes winning 11 of their last 12 meetings.
However, the last time these teams played in Oxford was in Kirby Smart's first season at Georgia, and it did not go well for the Bulldogs. The Rebels dominated Georgia all game long, winning 45-14. Smart however was able to get his revenge last season as the Bulldogs beat Ole Miss 52-17, which brings Smart's record against Ole Miss to 1-1 in his Georgia tenure.
Can Georgia stay on track to make the SEC championship game and College Football Playoffs? Can the Bulldogs get the win so Smart can have a winning record over Ole Miss as Georgia's head coach? Those questions will be answered soon enough.
But this is potentially the most difficult game remaining on Georgia's regular season schedule, so they are going to have to be a ready for a battle if they want to return home to Athens with a victory.
