One of the most exciting times in the state of Georgia for football fans is when the week of high school State Championship games take place. Those games always fall after Georgia football's regular season comes to an end and before their postseason play begins, so it is always a really fun time to watch some great young athletes take center stage.
And typically there is at least one if not more Georgia football recruits that are playing in these games, which is a nice added bonus for Georgia fans.
Monday was the first set of State Championship games, and Georgia had a wide receiver signee have an impressive game en route to his school winning the State Championship.
Georgia WR Landon Roldan
Landon Roldan is a class of 2025 wide receiver who has officially signed with Georgia and will join the Bulldogs next season. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is a three-star receiver and the No. 478 overall player in the country.
Roldan and North Oconee held off Marist in Monday's State Championship game in a defensive battle that Roldan's squad ended up winning 14-7. But even though the defenses dominated the game, that didn't stop Roldan from having an impressive game. He finished the State Championship game with six catches for 89 yards en route to his school's State Championship victory.
Fun fact about Roldan is that this is his second State Championship of 2024 as their baseball team also won a state title back in the spring.
Georgia and Kirby Smart need a lot of help next year from the wide receiver room, and Roldan will be ready to make an impact as soon as he gets to campus. He may not receive a lot of playing time in his first season in the fall, but he will provide much needed depth and will be able to find success on the field when he does get an opportunity.
