Georgia football and Auburn have had a lot of great battles over the years. Most of those battles that come to mind are those that take place on the football field, but they’ve had their fair share on the recruiting trail as well.

Typically when that happens, Kirby Smart and UGA tend to end up on top, and that is the hope in this recruiting battle Georgia and Auburn are involved in now. But that is going to be extremely difficult for a lot of reasons, but one in particular stands out.

4-star LB Shadarius Toodle

Shardarius Toodle is a four-star linebacker from Mobile, AL. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Toodle is the No. 114 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 8 player from the state of Alabama and the No. 9 linebacker in the 2026 class.

Toodle is currently committed to one of Georgia's biggest rivals Auburn, a commitment that he announced last July. But all signs point towards his recruitment not being 100 percent locked in with the Tigers.

For starters, Georgia has an official visit scheduled with Toodle for later this summer on May 16. He will also take official visits to Michigan, Florida, Baylor as well as Auburn.

On top of those visits, Toodle announced today via On3's Chad Simmons that he will take additional unnofficial visits to six different schools this spring, which includes UGA on March 16. So all of these visits tell us one thing, Toodle's recruitment is still up in the air.

Sure Auburn is still the favorite as he is still committed to them, Toodle is not acting like a player that is committed to anyone. Georgia and others are coming, and Auburn is going to have to hold on to this commitment for dear life.
