Georgia football brings a lot of eyeballs to TVs around the country whenever they take the field. Networks usually take advantage of this by slotting as many of their games into primetime slots as possible, but sometimes the networks get it wrong and schedule UGA for the worst possible start times.

Unfortunately that is exactly what happened with their upcoming matchup against Mississippi State.

Georgia handed worst possible kickoff time vs Mississippi State

Georgia and Mississippi State are scheduled to square off on Saturday, Nov. 8. A TV network has not been announced for this game yet, but it was announced on Monday that kickoff is scheduled for noon EST.

Noon is the worst start time Georgia could ever get for a game. This gives fans no time to wake up, enjoy their morning, tailgate and get to the stadium. On top of that, Georgia has to rush in their preparations for the game and start their pregame routines much earlier than any of the players want.

Unfortunately the SEC decided to give Georgia a noon kick against Mississippi State, but maybe it isn’t all bad.

Road environments at night are the most difficult games to play in. On the flip side, crowds are their calmest for a noon game, so maybe Georgia should be thankful for the early start time.

Georgia’s matchup with Mississippi State is UGA’s final road game of the season, so this means they won’t have to face another night atmosphere like they did against Auburn a few weeks ago. This should increase Georgia’s chances of winning this game, but does UGA even need the extra help?

Mississippi State hasn’t won an SEC game yet this season while Georgia is still in the running to win the conference. UGA would be a massive favorite no matter what time this game began, so a night game or a 3:30 pm start time Iikely wouldn’t change the outcome of this game.

Hopefully this is the last noon game Georgia has to play this season. Especially with two straight home games after this, it would be nice to enjoy a few more night games before the season ends.
