Georgia is fresh off another comeback victory on Saturday as they defeated Florida 24-20. But there is no time for Georgia to celebrate as the Bulldogs have another big matchup coming next week at Mississippi State.
Mississippi State has not been having a good season this year. They are a 5-4 overall which isn't terrible for their program, but they are a disappointing 1-4 in the SEC this season. Their one victory came against Arkansas by three points, but considering the Razorbacks are winless in confrerence play that isn't a victory to write home about.
But even though Mississippi State is having a rough year, Vegas isn't in love with Georgia entering this matchup.

As of Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2:30 pm EST, Georgia is only favored by 7.5 points over Mississippi State according to FanDuel Sportsbook. This is downright laughable because Georgia once again is one of the best teams in the country while Mississippi State is one of the worst teams in the SEC. But even if that is the case, Vegas thinks this will be a close game.
This matchup is at Mississippi State, so that might be one reason why this spread isn't as large as some might have expected. On top of that, Georgia has played a lot of close games this season against some not so great teams like Auburn and Florida. A lot of Missippi State's losses this season have been close as well as they nearly knocked off Texas and Tennessee this season.
But even if there are a few signs pointing to this game being another close battle, Georgia deserves to be favored by more. So don't be surprised to see this spread move in Georgia's favor before Saturday because there's a great chance fans across the country will agree that UGA should be favored by more.
