Georgia is at the halfway point of their season which usually means it’s time to reflect and evaluate where they are at. But in the SEC there is no time to relax because there is always another big matchup looming on the horizon. That is the case for Georgia this week because up next is potentially the biggest game of the season against No. 5 Ole Miss.
Georgia opened as a solid 6.5 point favorite over the Rebels which seemed like a pretty large number. But Vegas has already decided that spread wasn’t enough as they just moved the line one more point in Georgia’s favor.
Georgia football vs Ole Miss spread is on the move
6.5 points already seemed like too much for Georgia to be favored by. The Bulldogs have struggled in many of their games this season and Ole Miss is still undefeated. So being predicted to win by a touchdown seemed like quite a large margin. But after just 48 hours FanDuel Sportsbook changed the line and now has Georgia favored by 7.5 points.
While Georgia has had some issues this season, so too has Ole Miss. The Rebels are fresh off a measly three point win over Washington State in a game they were favored by 33 points. On top of that, Ole Miss only beat Kentucky by seven points and Arkansas by six as well.
So it appears that Vegas is this confident in Georgia because of all of these close results Ole Miss has had against lesser competition this season. Also in Georgia’s favor is their home crowd who want nothing more than to see UGA take control of the SEC standings again.
It will be interesting to see if this spread changes again throughout the week. Regardless, Vegas believe Georgia should have no issues winning this game, but every UGA fan knows that beating Ole Miss will not be that simple.
