Georgia faces a big dilemma at quarterback on the recruiting trail. The Bulldogs already have a commitment from five-star Jayden Wade in the 2028 recruiting class, and that is hardly a problem. But that commitment is making life difficult in other ways.
Georgia is still searching for their quarterback in the 2027 class, and so far they don’t have many prospects showing much interest. That however has nothing to do with Georgia as a program, but mostly has to do with other players not wanting to compete with Wade.
Georgia however will have to find someone in the 2027 class, and it turns out that they may have finally found someone interesting in coming to Athens too. That player is Davin Davidson.
“I'm mostly talking to Coach [Mike] Bobo, Coach [Brandon] Streeter, and coach [Luc] Cornier, but the whole offensive staff texted me about three days ago,” Davidson said via 247sports.com. “They were all just telling me what's up and how they want me there, just to say what's up and introducing themselves. Just showing me why I should come to Georgia.”
Georgia's hopes at QB rest on one recruit's shoulders
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Davidson is the No. 283 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 20 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 32 player from his home state of Florida.
Davidson is a fairly new name for Georgia on the recruiting trail, but it's clear how important he is to them. He shared in the above quote how three coaches reach out to him quite often, and that includes offensive coordinator Mike Bobo. It's obvious how badly Georgia wants a player when that many coaches reach out to them, so it's good to see that Davidson is feeling the love.
Davidson does not have any plans set to commit anytime soon, but he is someone to monitor as Georgia continues their search for a quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class.
