Georgia football continues to receive more good news coming off their second official visit weekend of June. Kirby Smart and his staff hosted 18 recruits on official visits last weekend, and by all accounts it was a very successful weekend.
One recruit Georgia reportedly made a lot of progress with is four-star defensive tackle Kendall Guervil. Georgia was not the leader in this recruitment heading into the weekend, but an update from Rivals insider Radi Nabulsi indicates that Georgia has “closed the gap” with Texas.
This seems very noteworthy...

Texas leads, but not by much:https://t.co/e9QEfvBisi
Georgia has caught up to rival Texas for 4-star DL
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Guervil is the No. 146 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 19 defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 19 player from his home state of Florida.
Georgia has some serious competition in this recruitment since Guervil is from Florida. The Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles are two teams in his top four along with Georgia. But it’s his fourth and final finalist that is the biggest threat to Georgia.
That team is Texas, who Nabulsi shared is the current leader in Guervil’s recruitment even after his visit to Athens.
Guervil has already taken his official visit to Florida State and Georgia, but these next two weeks will be massive in his recruitment. Up next is a visit to Florida that will take place this weekend followed by a trip to Texas to visit the Longhorns the following weekend. While Texas appears to be Guervil’s leader right now, Florida is up there with them as well, so these two visits could be the deciding factor for Guervil in his recruitment.
A commitment date is still unknown for Guervil, but it’s possible he could announce his decision after these two visits. So be sure to follow this recruitment closely over the next couple weeks, because Georgia has a very real chance to come out on top.
