Nothing beats flipping a recruit committed to another program. The excitement surrounding a flip increases even more if that recruit is committed to a team in the SEC. But the very best thing Georgia can do on the recruiting trail is flip a recruit that is committed to one of their rivals.

That is exactly what Georgia is attempting to do with four-star wide receiver Devin Carter, who has been committed to Auburn since mid-January.

Carter isn't just any recruit either because he is the No. 120 overall recruit in the country. He also is the No. 17 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 15 player from his home state of Georgia.

p\Georgia hosted Carter on an official visit last weekend', and according to Rivals' Adam Gorney it sounds like Georgia is catching up to the Tigers.

"The four-star receiver from Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County remains committed to Auburn but Georgia is pushing hard and he had a great visit to Athens over the weekend," Gorney shared via uga.rivals.com. "The “detailed way” the coaching staff broke down the development of their receivers and who they produced was a big bonus."

"The message from position coach James Coley was clear: 'He wants me in that WR room no matter how or when we make it happen.'"

Georgia looking to complete the flip of 4-star Auburn commit

Unfortunately for Georgia, Gorney didn't come out and say that the Bulldogs are the official leader for Carter, but it sounds like they improved their position a lot last weekend. Carter does have one more visit on the books to Auburn later this month, so it will be interesting to see if that visit ends Georgia's chances in this recruitment or if they remain in the running.

Carter also has upcoming visits scheduled with North Carolina and Florida State as well, so this speaks to how much he might be reconsidering his commitment.

Time will tell if Georgia is actually able to complete this flip or not, but at this point it is looking like a real possibility.
