Georgia football has been putting a much larger emphasis in recruiting the 2027 class over the past few weeks. One of the recruits Georgia has been devoting the most energy to is five-star running back David Gabriel-Georges.

Georgia is reportedly a team that is standing out to Gabriel-Georges early in his recruitment, but according to On3's Chad Simmons they are going to have to beat out some elite programs if they are going to win his recruitment.

5-star RB discusses why Georgia is one of his top schools

According to Chad Simmons, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee and Syracuse are the schools that are recruiting Gabriel-Georges the hardest right now along with Georgia. Gabriel-Georges however recently spoke about Georgia and what is standing out to him the most about the Bulldogs so far in his recruitment.

“Georgia has a lot of history at running back, and being around the players and coaches felt like family.”

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Gabriel-Georges is a five-star running back and the No. 34 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 3 running back in the 2027 recruiting class and the top ranked player from his home state of Tennessee.

The Volunteers expect to be a significant contender in this recruitment as the in-state schools, but Georgia has caught the attention of Gabriel-Georges so far in his recruitment as well. According to Gabriel-Georges, he is loving the family atmosphere he has felt from Georgia throughout his recruitment. He also recognizes and respects the long tradition of elite running back play at UGA as well.

No predictions have been made in this recruitment yet, and Gabriel-Georges is not expected to commit anytime soon. Georgia however is in a great position in this recruitment right now, so Gabriel-Georges is a name UGA fans will want to monitor throughout the next year as his recruitment heats up.
