Georgia football hosted 18 recruits on their official visits this weekend in Athens. One of the top recruits visiting Georgia this weekend was four-star safety Chace Calicut.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Calicut is the No. 161 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 13 safety in the 2026 recruiting class and the no. 23 overall player from his home state of Texas.

The dream for Georgia fans with any top recruit visiting Georgia is that word will come out that they are trending to UGA after their visit. And according to Rivals affiliate ugasports.com, it appears that might be exactly what is happening with Calicut.

Georgia looking to pass Texas as Calicut's leader

Entering this weekend, Texas was the clear leader in Calicut's recruitment. In fact, there are still three crystal ball predictions logged in the Longhorns favor on 247Sports. But all three of those predictions are now over two months old, so there has been plenty of time for things to change in his recruitment.

It will be interesting to see if more word comes out regarding where Georgia now stands in Calicut's recruitment. The Bulldogs were one of his top three schools entering this weekend, but he still has upcoming visits to Michigan and Texas, his two other leaders, later this month. So while the above social media post suggessts that a commitment form Calicut could be coming soon, that in reality is unlikely to occur before these other visits take place.

So be sure to pay close attention to Calicut over these next few weeks, because if Georgia is going to surpass Texas, official predictions in Georgia's favor will start flooding in over the next few weeks.

And what better way to remind Texas that Georgia owns them than by stealing a recruit from their own state.
