One of the best moments in recruiting is when Georgia steals a player that is currently committed to another program. On the flip side, it is extremely frustrating when a school comes in and steals a player that is committed to Georgia.
Thankfully Kirby Smart and his staff more often then not are stealing other recruits instead of having their commits stolen. And it appears they have their eyes set on another target that is committed to a rival, according to the Dawg Post's Matt DeBary.
"Another Georgia target to keep an eye on moving forward is Brooks County (GA) defensive back, Traeviss Stevenson," DeBary shared via dawgpost.com. "A current Georgia Tech commitment, Stevenson is one of the top 2026 defensive backs in South Georgia coming off a strong junior season where he made play after play on both sides of the ball. A natural athlete with a lengthy 6-foot-1 180-pound frame, Stevenson made 74 tackles and four big interceptions. He also helped on offense, catching 29 passes for 244 yards and one more touchdown."
3-star CB Traeviss Stevenson
According to DeBary, Georgia is on the prowl for Stevenson who is a three-star corner from Quitman, GA. Stevenson has been committed to rival Georgia Tech since last month, but he is yet to shut hit recruitment down completely.
Stevenson has two other official visits still scheduled for this summer when he will travel to Tulane and Stanford, so that tells Georgia fans that UGA still has a chance to flip him from the Yellow Jackets. However, as it stands now, Georgia has not gone 100 percent after Stevenson, so he will not be flipping to Georgia anytime soon.
But if Smart and his staff do start aggressively pursuing Stevenson, then Georgia likely would stand a great chance at flipping him.
