Penn State firing James Franklin may still feel like old news, but Georgia is still reaping the benefits from it. While UGA and Penn State do not face each other on the field, they do battle on the recruiting trail quite often, and that is where UGA is benefitting from Franklin being fired.

The Bulldogs are after a few players that were committed to Penn State, but none of them have decided that Georgia is the right place for them yet. That likely is because all of those recruits are in the 2027 class, so there is no rush for them to commit to any school.

But the Bulldogs are officially after an offensive tackle in the 2026 class who is still committed to Penn State, and he would help put a bow on an impressive recruiting class for Georgia.

Penn State commit would be the perfect addition to Georgia's recruiting class

Georgia currently has the No. 2 recruiting class in the country. The Bulldogs however still have a couple holes they need to fill to put the final bow on their 2026 class, and adding another offensive tackle is one of those holes that needs filled.

Georgia has been unable to successfully land a second offensive tackle in the 2026 class, but it appears they have decided that Penn State commit Jack Fuchs is their next target. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Fuchs is the No. 483 overall player in the country and the No. 15 player from his home state of Tennessee. So he by no means is an elite target, but he is someone that Georgia desperately wants.

According to the above report from Rivals, Fuchs plans to take a visit to Georgia this fall. He also will visit Northwestern as well, so UGA will have to beat the Wildcats and Penn State to come out on top. But it's hard to imagine a world where Georgia doesn't win this recruitment, but anything is possible.
