Georgia has only made the NCAA Tournament six times since 2000. They also haven't made the tournament in back-to-back years since 2001-02. Georgia however had a chance to get to the tournament for a second year in a row this year after making the Big Dance last season.
Unfortunately the odds were stacked against the Bulldogs, but Mike White went out and had the best coaching job of his career and has officially clinched Georgia's spot in the NCAA Tournament after the Bulldogs' win over Alabama Tuesday night.
Georgia lost Silas Demary Jr. to UConn and Asa Newell to the NBA and will be an NCAA Tournament team for the second straight season.

Mike White accomplished the unthinkable after Georgia's win over Alabama
Tuesday night marked the home finale for Georgia basketball, and what a game it was. A red hot Alabama team came to Athens in search of another win, but Georgia stopped them in their tracks en route to a 98-88 victory.
This was a game Georgia was never supposed to win. In year's past this was a game they almost never win, but with the odds stacked against Georgia White found a way to pull it out.
Georgia entered this season without their two best players from last year. Superstar Asa Newell left for the NBA and Silas Demary Jr. transferred to UConn. The Bulldogs also didn't make a ton of noise in the portal either, so expectations were low heading into this season. In fact, the preseason media poll had Georgia finishing No. 14 in the SEC. But this victory over Alabama leaves no doubt that Georgia will be dancing in March Madness for the second year in a row.
Georgia has one final game at Mississippi State on Saturday before the SEC Tournament next week. A few more wins would be helpful when it comes to NCAA Tournament seeding, but regardless of what happens Georgia will hear their name called for the second year in a row on Selection Sunday.
