Georgia has routinely recruited with the very best programs in college football for decades. However, it has become Tight End U in recent years under Kirby Smart because of UGA alum Todd Hartley coming back to the program in 2019. While Georgia may miss out on elite players at different positions of note, they know how to shoot their shot at tight end. Look for Georgia to clean up here.

Look at who just became the leader for 2027 four-star tight end Brock Williams over Ohio State...

As Buckeyes fans fall to pieces over Keenan Bailey not being able to get it done for Ohio State, Georgia has a phenomenal recruiting record for guys named Brock and tight ends who hail from out of state. According to the 247Sports Composite, Williams is the No. 2 tight end in the country, the No. 3 player from Illinois, and the No. 52 overall prospect in the 2027 cycle. So who else is in on Williams?

Right now, he is leaning toward Georgia, Ohio State, or Texas for his four-star commitment for 2027.

Georgia Bulldogs are very much in the mix to land Brock Williams for 2027

Look. Even if Georgia does not end up securing Williams' commitment, it is great to continue seeing the Bulldogs in the mix for one of the best tight ends in the country. Georgia recruits on a national stage, but having Ohio State fans questioning if their position coach can pull off this recruiting win is a testament to what Hartley has been bringing to the table for years. Texas feels like a distant third...

Overall, we still have plenty of time before Williams has to put pen to paper. He still has another season of high school football left to be played, too. Clearly, he is really only interested in playing for traditional powers. One thing Georgia fans should keep in the back of their minds is who the new Ohio State offensive coordinator is. That would be former NFL head coach and top assistant Arthur Smith.

Some legions of Dawg Nation may remember him from his days of going 7-10 annually with the middling Atlanta Falcons. Prior to that, he was Mike Vrabel's offensive coordinator and top assistant with the Tennessee Titans. He is a former offensive lineman who specializes in coaching up tight ends. Simply put, if Bailey cannot get it done, then maybe Smith would have to pick up the pieces...

For now, Georgia has a bit more stability at tight ends coach in Hartley to potentially land Williams.
