There is no secret behind the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl winning season this past year. They had a stacked team full of former Georgia football stars that helped lead them to their Super Bowl win. The fact that they had so many Bulldogs on their team only upset UGA fans even more because the lack of an emphasis the Atlanta Falcons have put on drafting former Georgia players over the last few years.

It goes without saying that most UGA fans are also fans of the Atlanta Falcons. Watching the Falcons struggle year after year has been extremely difficult, especially after seeing former Bulldogs shine elswhere in the league when everyone knows they could have been drafted by Atlanta.

But that pain no longer exists after the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday as Atlanta finally used their first round pick to select Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker.

This selection caused UGA fans to celebrate like crazy as Atlanta finally did the thing no one thought they would ever do. But it wasn't just Georgia fans who were excited over this pick, legendary Georgia quarterback Buck Blue couldn't handle his emotions after the Falcons made this selection either.

Buck Blue has legendary reaction to Atlanta selecting Jalon Walker

Blue can be seen in the above video lying on the ground, smiling from ear to ear because of how excited he was after seeing Atlanta select Walker with the 15th overall pick in the draft. Blue then stood up and continued his excitement by saying the following.

"I can't believe it. It's a new day in Falcons' football after 59 years of passing on Georgia Bulldogs in the first or second round. The Falcons have finally turned the tables."

59 years is a very long time. But that unfortunate streak has thankfully come to an end and is the very reason Georgia fans are partying like they just won another National Championship.

Now the hope is that Walker will work out in Atlanta like everyone thinks he will. But after witnessing his historic 2024 season in Athens, most assume it is just a matter of time until he is a full-blown superstar.
