Georgia football’s 2026 wide receiver class was looking very strong as the Bulldogs held commitments from three elite receivers. Unfortunately that changed on Monday as four-star Vance Spafford has announced that he is flipping his commitment from Georgia to Miami (FL).

Miami has Georgia’s number on the recruiting trail

Spafford originally committed to Georgia in November, which at the time was the Bulldogs biggest commitment in the 2026 recruiting class. He is a top 100 player in the country and the No. 9 wide receiver, so it is easy to see how big of an addition he was to Georgia’s class. Unfortunately it didn’t work out for UGA as he opted to flip to the Hurricanes on Monday, which marks the second time that has happened this cycle.

Earlier this year, four-star corner Jontavius Wyman made the same decision and flipped from Georgia to Miami as well. Former UGA quarterback Carson Beck also shocked the world and transferred to Miami this offseason too. So seemingly out of nowhere the Hurricanes have shown they can find a lot of success against the Bulldogs on the recruiting trail.

Georgia’s potential replacement for Spafford is committing soon

Since Spafford is no longer with the Bulldogs, that leaves an open spot in their recruiting class for another wide receiver commit. Thankfully it appears Georgia fans won’t have to wait much longer to see UGA fill that void.

Four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge is scheduled to announce his commitment on Thursday, June 26. And it’s Georgia who is the leader in this recruitment as of now.

That obviously can change over the next few days, but Georgia fans should feel hopeful heading into this announcement.

Dandridge would join wide receivers Ryan Mosley and Brady Marchese as the third wide receiver commits in Georgia’s recruiting class. This more than likely would complete Georgia’s recruiting class at wide receiver, so hopefully UGA’s staff can get the job done with Dandridge over the next few days.
