There are a handful of teams who are legit contenders to win a National Championship. Georgia fans would like to think they are included in that group, and most college football fans across the country probably think they are as well.

But is Georgia a safe bet to win it all this season? That is a different debate.

On3 was recently discussing who they think will win the National Championship this season, and analyst Josh Pate is very high on Georgia. He also is extremely bullish on LSU and Lane Kiffin's $40 million roster as well. In fact, he asked if anyone would bet on one of those two teams winning it all or if they would take the field.

That question is a bit ridiculous to pose and fans let Pate hear it, at the expense of Georgia and LSU of course.

College football fans are outraged that Georgia is a favorite to win it all

Fans were not happy that Pate is this high on Georgia and LSU. No one can deny that both teams are capable of winning it all, but there are a lot of other teams that could as well.

Ohio State and Notre Dame are two teams in the north who are more than capable of winning a national title this year. Then there are a few SEC teams like Alabama and Texas who are good enough to do it as well. There are even teams like Indiana and Oregon who could surprise some folks as well.

So even though Georgia and LSU have a great chance to win it all, there are too many other teams also capable that deserve more credit than Pate is giving them. Fans still attacked Georgia and LSU’s rosters after seeing this clip, but thankfully most of their hate was directed towards Pate.

But this clip did more harm than good to Georgia’s public perception, and UGA has Pate to blame for that.
