Georgia football is beginning to turn all of their attention on recruiting the 2027 class. The Bulldogs already have the No. 6 recruiting class in the country, but there is still a lot of work to do over the next year.

One recruit Georgia has focused a lot of their recent attention on is four-star linebacker Quinton Cypher. Cypher is a top 10 linebacker in the country who just released his top four schools. Georgia made the cut in his top four, but there is a lot more going on his recruitment beyond announcing his final four schools.

4-star LB has Georgia high on his list

Alabama, Ohio State and Miami are the three other finalists in Cypher’s top four along with Georgia. However, Rivals insider Radi Nabulsi stated that it is Georgia and Ohio State who are his clear top two right now.

So it appears that Georgia only needs to worry about Ohio State when it comes to Cypher’s recruitment. It obviously is a really good thing to be in a recruit’s top two, but unfortunately Ohio State is the team to beat right now. On3 actually has the Buckeyes as the overwhelming favorite to win this recruitment, giving them an 88.1 percent chance to win this battle. So Georgia is going to have to come from behind if they’re going to win this recruitment.

A public commitment date is not known for Cypher, so Georgia should have plenty of time to catch up in his recruitment. Georgia however shouldn’t be counted out just yet. They have come from behind in many recruitments before, and as long as Kirby Smart is roaming the sidelines in Athens they can win any recruitment in the country.

And that includes the recruitment for an elite linebacker against as good of a program as Ohio State.
