Georgia football has made a new scholarship offer that has propelled them to the top of the list for a new running back target. That running back is Jacez Walton, who projects to be one of the top running backs in the class of 2028.

Georgia offer stands out to 2028 RB

Recruiting rankings have not come out for the 2028 recruiting class yet, but Walton projects to be one of the best players in the country from this class. Walton also is from the state of Georgia as well, so that makes his recruitment even more important for UGA if they choose to aggressively pursue him.

According to his 247Sports profile, Walton already has six other scholarship offers which includes Auburn, Georgia Tech, Florida, Tennessee, Miami (FL) and Oregon. Based on these offers alone it is clear that his recruitment is going to take off as time goes on, but Walton recently shared just how much this offer from Georgia means to him.

“It feels amazing. I’ve been waiting and working for this school since 7th grade.”

Georgia has found a lot of success recruiting running backs so far in the 2026 class. The Bulldogs already have a commitment from four-star Jae Lamar who is the No. 107 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Georgia also is in a good spot with five-star Derrek Cooper who is scheduled to announce his commitment on July 20.

But Walton is another name that Georgia fans should learn because it appears he will be a top target for Kirby Smart and his staff once his recruitment begins to ramp up. And the fact that Georgia is already battling all three of their rivals for Walton makes this recruitment that much more interesting to pay close attention to.
