Georgia football just wrapped up taking down Kentucky at home to move to 4-1 on the season. Their reward? A road date with the Auburn Tigers that marks their first rivalry matchup of the season.
Auburn is a scary team this season who has the ability to upset the Bulldogs this year. But there are three huge advantages that have been handed to the Tigers that Georgia will have to overcome if they want to walk away with a victory.
1. Auburn is coming off a bye week
Extra rest and health is a huge thing in college football. Being more rested and having less injuries can be the difference between which team wins and which team loses when the two teams are evenly matched.
This could come into play next weekend because Auburn is coming off a bye week.
Georgia however has the more talented team on paper, so there is a chance this doesn't swing the game completely in Auburn's favor. But this is one small advantage that UGA is going to have to overcome next Saturday.
2. Georgia must face Auburn at night
Auburn is known for having a very intimidating crowd than can impact the outcome of the game. But their atmopshere gets taken to another level when they play at night and under the lights.
Unfortunately that is what Georgia is going to have to face as this game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm EST.
3. The Tigers are retiring Cam Newton's jersey
Speaking of a terrifying atmosphere, Auburn's fans might be the loudest they have ever been Saturday night because they are retiring Cam Newton's jersey. College football players don't get much better than Newton, so the fact that his jersey is being retired will make their fans that much more engaged.
This game will be difficult for Georgia to win. The Bulldogs are the much better team on paper, but Auburn is much better than their 3-2 record suggests. They have the talent and ability to win this game, and these three factors being in their favor is only going to make life that much more difficult for Georgia.
