Georgia football and Kirby Smart have been putting a lot of effort in on the recruiting trail with the 2026 recruiting class recently. And with spring ball in full swing, now is the perfect time to bring those recruits to campus for a visit.
But Smart and his staff have also put a lot of emphasis on the 2027 class as well, and those efforts sound like they are being rewarded.
One of the 2027 recruits Georgia is aggressively pursuing is Quinton Cypher. According to Rivals, Cypher is a four-star linebacker and the No. 237 overall player in the country. Cypher was recently on a visit to Georgia, and recruiting expert Adam Gorey provided a very encouraging update regarding where he stands with Georgia.
"After spending more time at Georgia last week, the word is that the Bulldogs have extended their lead as the front runner for the 2027 four-star linebacker from Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook," Gorey shared via uga.rivals.com. "From a campus tour to playing games with players to a strength and conditioning presentation to seeing the facilities to seeing practice and being in meetings, Cypher got the whole experience and loved it."
Georgia is the "team to beat"
Accordng to Gorey, the Bulldogs are the "team to beat" for Cyper. Even if that is the case right now, this recruitment will still not be easy to win.
For starters, Cypher is in the 2027 recruiting class, so his recruitment has a lot of time left in it. On top of that, many other elite programs are pursuining him as well including Notre Dame, Ohio State and North Carolina. So with many talented programs going after Cypher and a lot of time left in his recruitment still, quite literally anything is possible.
Time will tell how this recruitment goes, but Georgia has to love where they stand right now.
