Georgia football has already been making a lot of progress with the top recruits in the 2027 recruiting class. One of those recruits that UGA is doing extremely well with is tight end Brock Williams, who just so happens to be the No. 1 tight end in the country according to On3.
Williams shared an update with On3's Steve Wiltfong on Wednesday about his recruitment, and that update included naming his top three schools which consists of Georgia, rival Florida and reigning National Champion Ohio State.

Georgia trending for nation's top ranked tight end
Georgia has found a lot of success recruiting tight ends in the 2026 class so far. They already hold two commitments from four-star tight ends and are also predicted to land five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro this weekend as well. That commitment would be the cherry on top at the tight end position, meaning that Kirby Smart and his staff can devote all of their attention on the tight ends in the 2027 class.
Another huge update that Williams shared on Wednesday is that he plans to announce his commitment sometime this fall. That is really early for a recruit of his status to announce a commitment, but potentially picking Georgia that early in the cycle would do wonders for UGA's class.
The Bulldogs already hold two four-star commitments in the 2027 class, so adding the No 1 tight end would give them one of the top classes in the country. This would also give them a lot of momentum that Georgia could build off throughout the 2026 calendar year, something Georgia fans just experienced in June with the 2026 recruiting class.
Time will tell if Georgia ends up winning this recruitment or not, but the Bulldogs are in about as good of a position as they can possibly be right now.
