Georgia football unfortunately has had their fair share of legal incidents with a few Bulldogs in the football program over the past few years. Unfortunately that has happened again this week as offensive lineman Jah Jackson was reportedly arrested on Wednesday.
Georgia OL facing multiple charges after arrest
According to multiple reports, Jackson was arrested on Wednesday and is facing multiple charges. One of those charges is felony possession of marijuana.
Clarke County Jail Log, Jackson was arrested on July 16 at 11:50 pm EST. Jackson was released on a nearly $5,000 bond a few hours later at 4:17 am EST.
On top of the felony possession charge mentioned above, Jackson will also face three misdemanor charges as well. This includes possession of marijuana less than 1 oz., possession, use of drug-related objects and physically holding or supporting, with any part of his or her body, a wireless device while operating a motor vehicle.
This unfortunately is not the first legal run in Georgia has experienced this week. Word came out last week that defensive line commit Seven Cloud was arrested in April in relation to a domestic incident. Marques Easley and Nitro Tuggle were also arrested after driving related incidents back in March as well, so the news surrounding Jackson is the fourth example of legal issues involving a Georgia player or recruit this year.
After playing in all 14 games last season, Jackson was expected to see his role expand in the offense this season. Most of his time last season was spent on special teams, but he projected to compete for a reseve spot on the offensive line this season.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Jackson at Georgia this season, but with fall camp right around the corner Georgia fans will soon find out if Jackson is with the team or not.
