One of the fun parts about transfer portal season is the unknown of what players or coaches will do. Which players will Georgia football and Kirby Smart target and who will go after the Bulldogs that enter the transfer portal are two of the questions always on the minds of Georgia fans.
Only three Bulldogs have entered the transfer portal so far, and one of those players was wide receiver Nitro Tuggle. On paper this was a big loss because of the potential he possesses, but after being suspended indfinitely earlier this offseason for a driving related incident, his loss wasn't that bad after all.
A couple teams immediately went after Tuggle in the portal, with Syracuse being one of those teams. This was especially interesting because former Georgia assistant Fran Brown is the current head coach at Syracuse.
So it appears he has his eyes set on stealing a former Georgia player, but it looks like Smart is attempting to do the same to one of Brown's players from Syracuse.

Syracuse transfer DL Maraad Watson
According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, Georgia is one of four teams "in the mix" for Syracuse transfer defensive lineman Maraad Watson. Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas are also after the talented lineman as well.
Watson is coming off an impressive freshman season where he finished the year with 30 tackles which includes one sack. Now these aren't the most impressive stats in the world, but considering this was his true freshman season, last year was actually very impressive.
So it's clear that Watson has a lot of potential, and knowing how elite Georgia is at producing NFL caliber defensive lineman, there is a great chance he could reach his potential in Athens. So hopefully UGA is able to come out on top in this recruitment, because Watson would fill a massive hole Georgia needs to fill this offseason.
