Georgia football quarterback commit Jared Curtis is one of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class. That fact did not change after Rivals released an update to their recruiting rankings on Monday.
However, Curtis now has some serious competition from another SEC quarterback commit as they battle to earn the title of the No. 1 QB in the 2026 recruiting class.

Jared Curtis battling Texas’s Dia Bell for top spot
According to Rivals recruiting rankings, Curtis now is the No. 2 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. Many college football experts and fans believe Curtis is the best quarterback in the country, but that is beginning to change after this update.
So who is the No. 1 quarterback now according to Rivals? That title goes to Dia Bell, who is currently committed to the Texas Longhorns.
Bell however is not the consensus No. 1 quarterback in the country as Curtis still holds the top spot according the Rivals Industry rankings, which complies data from the individual rankings set by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN. Curtis also is the No. 1 quarterback according to the 247Sports composite rankings. 247Sports individual rankings however have Curtis as the No. 3 QB. Bell on the other hand is only the No. 5 QB according to 247Sports.
So after looking at all the data, Curtis is still the highest ranked quarterback across each recruiting platform. However, it could just be a matter of time until Bell passes Curtis in other rankings as well after he took home the MVP award from the Elite 11 Finals this summer. It is worth mentioning that Curtis didn’t participate in this event, but Bell winning that award will likely carry him in the rankings throughout the rest of the recruiting cycle.
But at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter where Curtis ends up in the recruiting rankings. Everyone at Georgia is more than happy that he is a member of UGA’s recruiting class, and no ranking from any recruiting platform can change that.
