Georgia football has been making a lot of great moves in the 2027 recruiting class recently. UGA unfortunately hasn't been able to earn a commitment in the 2027 class for a few months now, but that is very normal at this point in the recruiting cycle.
So all Kirby Smart and his staff need to do is continue to prioritize and lay the ground work for the recruits they care the most about in the next recruiting cycle. And according to the No. 1 safety in the country, Georgia is doing just that in his recruitment.

Georgia is pursuing No. 1 safety the hardest
Safety Kamarui Dorsey is potentially one of the most important targets for Georgia in the 2027 recruiting class. That is an easy claim to make because he is the No. 1 safety in the country according to Rivals, but he is also an in-state recruit for UGA as well. So these are the recruitments that Georgia needs to win if they want to stay at the top of college football for as long as possible.
On top of these facts, Georgia's biggest competition in Dorsey's recruitment right now is their in-state rival Georgia Tech. In fact, On3's prediction model gives the Yellow Jackets a small lead over Georgia in Dorsey's recruitment right now. So the last thing any Georgia fan should want is to see the Bulldogs fall short in this recruitment at the hands of one of their rivals.
Dorsey does not plan to announce his commitment anytime soon, but that is a great thing for Georgia. Smart and his staff are some of the best recruiters in the country, so over the next year there is a great chance they'll be able to work their magic and earn Dorsey's commitment for UGA.
