Georgia football once again has one of the top recruiting classes in the country. Their 2026 class currently sits at No. 2 in the country, and a big reason for that is because of five-star Jared Curtis's commitment as he is one of the top quarterbacks and players in the country.
But just because Georgia has their quarterback of the future does not mean they can let up on the recruiting trail going forward. Kirby Smart and his staff need to continue pursuing elite players across the field, which includes the quarterback position.
Thankfully Georgia just received some great news from the No. 1 overall recruit in the country in the 2028 recruiting class as they were named his leader.
Jayden Wade (@LightsOutWade7) is the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2028 Rivals Industry Ranking. The sophomore quarterback shows why with this beautiful 85-yard touchdown pass.

Georgia named early favorite for 5-star QB
Jayden Wade is a five-star quarterback and the No. 1 overall player in the country according to 247Sports. He is a member of the 2028 recruiting class meaning that he is only a sophomore, but that hasn't stopped Georgia from going all out in his recruitment.
The Bulldogs have been a major player in his recruitment for a long time now, and it just so happens they are the "early favorite" according to Rivals' Jed May.
Georgia's pitch to Wade is very simple. They can show him that another elite quarterback in Curtis was willing to put his faith and trust in their program, so he should be able to do the same. Georgia can show Wade just how successful quarterbacks have been at UGA over the last few years and that he will compete for championships if he comes to Athens.
Wade coming to Georgia would be perfect timing for his career as well because he would likely only have to sit behind Curtis for one year before he can take over as the starter when Curtis heads to the NFL. So this would give him time to develop for one season before becoming the leader of the offense in his second year.
Wade's recruitment has a long way to go, but he is someone Georgia fans should keep a close eye on over the next few years.
