There were a lot of questions surrounding the future of Georgia's quarterback room after five-star Jared Curtis decommitted from UGA. Curtis was supposed to be the future of the position after Gunner Stockton, but his departure created a lot of unknown at the most important position on the football field.

Stockton has a big decision to make in front of him this offseason as he could leave for the NFL or return to Georgia for one more season. If he does come back to Georgia then some felt that this would force backup Ryan Puglisi out as he may not want to sit behind for another season.

Puglisi however shared on Tuesday that he does not intend to enter the Transfer Portal regardless of what Stockton chooses to do.

Ryan Puglisi adds security to Georgia's future at QB

Before this announcement the worst thing that could have happened to Georgia would be Stockton declaring for the NFL Draft. If he left then that would leave UGA with Puglisi as their only QB capable of playing which is a bit concerning since he himself hasn't played much during his career. There also was the chance that Puglisi could transfer and Georgia would enter next season without either player.

Stockton could still leave after this season, but even if he does Georgia's quarterback room will at least still have Puglisi in it. That won't be enough for next season, but Georgia would likely only need to add one QB out of the portal this offseason to add some depth.

The best scenario though would be Stockton returning for one more season. This would allow Pugisi to develop for one more year before taking over in 2027. Developing for that many years has worked well at Georgia for players like Stockton, Stetson Bennett and Carson Beck, so this extra year could be exactly what Puglisi needs to become the next great quarterback at UGA.
