Georgia is really good at winning football games. That won't be a surprise to anyone across the country as the Bulldogs have been the most successful program in all of college football this decade.
But how dominant has Georgia really been?
There are a lot of stats that one could point to that shows how elite Georgia has been over the last few years under Kirby Smart, but one of the greatest stats of all is how long their current home winning steak is.
It's actually really difficult to remember the last time Georgia lost a home game without looking it up. In fact, most UGA fans might not be able to remember who the last team was that came into Sanford Stadium and left with a win.
Georgia has played the last five seasons without losing a home game, and their last loss came on Oct. 12, 2019 when South Carolina upset the No. 3 Bulldogs 20-17. Since that loss, Georgia has racked off 32 straight victories at home, a streak that no team in the country is even close to.
Longest active college football home win streaks
There are only seven teams in the country who will enter the 2025 season with a home win streak of at least 10 games. Of those teams, only one has more than half of Georgia's current mark of 32, and that is Washington who sits at 20 straight home wins.
Alabama and Missouri are the only teams in the SEC with a home streak of at least 10, as the Tide sit at 12 with Missouri having 10 straight home wins.
Who could break Georgia's home win streak in 2025?
This streak is remarkable considering how talented the SEC is year in and year out, but Georgia's home schedule this coming season is potentially the hardest it has ever been throughout this streak. So who are the teams that have the best chance to end Georgia's streak during the 2025 season?
Georgia's first two games of the season are at home against Marshall and Austin Peay, so there is no real threat of Georgia's streak ending there. But the following home game presents a serious challenge for UGA.
The Bulldogs fourth game of the season is a home date with Alabama, and it's the Tide that might have the best chance of ending Georgia's streak. After Alabama, Georgia's next two home games are against Kentucky, which should be an easy win, and Ole Miss, who Georgia will be solid favorites against.
After a few weeks on the road, Georgia will face their next serious threat in Texas who will be extremely motivated to beat UGA after losing to the Bulldogs twice last season. The final home game of the year for Georgia is against Charlotte, which again will be a very easy win for Georgia.
So it's pretty easy to see that Georgia's home win streak is in serious trouble this season. But there's a reason Georgia has gotten their streak this high in the first place, and that's because year in and year out they are an elite team, and the Georgia fanbase creates one of the best atmospheres in the country. So don't be surprised if UGA's streak is still in tact at the end of this season.
