Every NFL Draft has that one player who makes you hold your breath every time he touches the ball. For the 2026 class, that’s Georgia wide receiver Zachariah Branch.

After transferring in and becoming a focal point of the Georgia Bulldog offense, Branch proved that speed translates in any system. He isn’t the biggest receiver in the room, but he’s arguably the most explosive player in the entire NFL Draft.

NFL teams are looking at Branch as the ultimate "chess piece." Whether he’s lining up in the slot, taking a jet sweep, or returning punts, he’s a touchdown waiting to happen. His explosiveness has brought on comparisons to Tyreek Hill, but Branch will need to prove himself against NFLers to make that a reality

Zachariah Branch is more than just a speedy receiver

His draft range is a bit of a wildcard due to his size (5 ft 10 in, 180 lbs), but his 4.3 speed and elite route-running should see him land in the late first or early second round. Add in a surprising strength with a combine bench press of 20 reps at 225 lbs, and a creative offensive coordinator is going to have a field day with him.

When he transferred to Georgia from USC, fans had high expectations and Branch rose to meet the challenge, with 81 receptions and 6 TDs, to help carry the Bulldogs to the quarterfinals of the CFP. What team will grab this lightning in a bottle to energize their offense? Which GM brings an immediate talent into the fold to add a multi-faceted weapon to unleash against opposing defenses?

If Branch doesn't get snapped up by the second round or earlier, it will be a draft day travesty. Sure, a team will get him for less money in the contract, but it will be a sign of disrespect to his massive talent.
