In a move that shocked Alabama fans, star receiver Isaiah Horton announced his intention to enter the Transfer Portal earlier this week.

Currently, every college football team is putting all their chips on trying to land Cam Coleman from Auburn. While everyone is trying to get the former five-star on their team, the Georgia Bulldogs could take advantage and bring home a guy that could very well be the next Zachariah Branch.

Isaiah Horton could be a game changer at Georgia

Horton was one of Ty Simpson's most reliable targets this past season at Alabama. Horton had over 500 yards receiving and eight touchdowns on the year, which was good for third on the team in yards and first in touchdowns. Likely looking to become a No. 1 option someplace else, where better to look than Georgia?

Horton's style of play can be compared to Branch pretty well. Horton is incredibly skilled at contested catches while still having the explosiveness and speed that Georgia could utilize in screen passes. His frame and ability to create space could pair well with several underclassmen like Talyn Taylor and Sacovie White-Helton who will be expected to step up in 2026.

The elite receiver would not need much time learning Georgia's system, which is very similar to Alabama's. When Georgia went out and got Branch, it was a very similar situation. Branch had spent a few years at USC in a similar system and came to Georgia and became the go-to guy for Stockton with his ability to create space.

Mike Bobo has worked with receivers such as AJ Green and Mohamed Massaquoi, meaning he has worked with several receivers that have a similar frame as Horton paired with that same explosiveness. Needless to say, Georgia is still the back-to-back SEC Champion and has been a national title contender for nearly a decade. Horton has the opportunity to shine and bring Georgia back to the national title game, and he would be a welcomed addition in Athens.
