Georgia's running back room plagued by injuries once again

When will Georgia's running back room catch a break?

The running back room for Georgia football this season has felt like it has never been healthy. Thankfully that hasn't hurt Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs too much when it comes to their record, but it sure would be nice for the running back room to stay healthy for an extended period of time.

Unfortunately that does not appear to be happening as Georgia is inching closer to their Sugar Bowl showdown with Notre Dame.

A few days ago it was reported that Roderick Robinson suffered an injury during practice and will miss the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1. Losing any player at this point in the season is obviously very bad, but Georgia's running back room is deep so they should be able to overcome this injury.

However, the Bulldogs practice on Friday revealed that another running back was not present for Georgia.

Running Back Branson Robinson not seen during Friday's practice

Dawgnation.com reported that running back Branson Robinson was not at practice during the time the media was allowed to be present. Now this doesn't guarantee that Robinson wasn't at practice all day on Friday because he may have practiced after the media left, but this is a bad sign that he wasn't out there during this time.

However, Georgia should still be able to overcome this injury as well as the Bulldogs still have Trevor Etienne and Nate Frazier who have both had elite seasons this year. So thankfully Georgia has a lot of depth at running back so they should be just fine heading into their College Football Playoff game against Notre Dame.

Smart likely will comment on the status of both players in the near future, but hopefully the injuries aren't too serious so both players can be active if Georgia beats Notre Dame and advances in the CFP.
