Georgia football has proven over the last month especially that they are one of the best teams in the country. But even if that is the case, their is still one scenario that exists that would ruin all the good that has occurred this season.

Georgia has one final regular season game against Georgia Tech on Friday in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets are a formiddable foe this year as they are 9-2, but they have lost two of their last three games and are trending in the wrong direction as the season comes to an end. Georgia finds themselves as a nearly two touchdown favorite because of their recent misfortunes, but that doesn't eliminate the opportunity Georgia Tech has from causing UGA's worst-case scenario.

Georgia's season could still come to a crashing end

Even though Georgia is the No. 4 team in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, there is still work to do to guarantee their spot in the final 12-team field. And for Georgia it is as simple as beating Georgia Tech on Friday to ensure they make the playoff again this season.

A loss to Tech however could put their playoff lives in jeopardy, but a 10-2 team with Georgia's resume should still be good enough to make the playoff. But this is where things could get interesting because even if Georgia loses to Georgia Tech they could still make the SEC Championship game, and that is the last thing anyone should want if UGA does lose on Friday.

If Georgia loses to Georgia Tech then loses to Alabama, Texas A&M or Ole Miss in the SEC Championship game, they will miss the playoff. There is no chance a 10-3 Georgia team who just lost two games in a row would deserve a spot in the playoff field, so the Bulldogs would more than likely be left on the outside looking in.

It may feel unlikely for this to occur because in reality it likely won't happen. Georgia should beat Georgia Tech on Friday and they still need some help just to make it to the SEC Championship game in the first place. But their worst-case scenario is still a real possibility that Georgia fans should be a little worried about.
