Georgia football continues to trend well with many of the top recruits in the country and appear to be closing in on some massive commitments as well. But there are some lesser known players that Georgia is after as well that may not be as highly ranked as others, but Kirby Smart and his staff are still aggressively pursuing them.

One of those players is three-star EDGE Corey Howard, who is from Valdosta, GA. The 247Sports composite rankings don't even have Howard inside their top 1,000 recruits, but that doesn't mean Georgia fans shouldn't be excited about this recruitment. Smart and his staff have proven they know what they're doing on the recruiting trail, so if they want someone in their class then no one should care what they are ranked.

Howard took his official visit to Georgia on June 13, and it appears that visit went very well because Rivals' Jed May shared on Wednesday that Georgia is "setting the pace" in Howard's recruitment.

Georgia will have to hold off Florida for in-state EDGE

The only serious threat to Georgia in this recruitment is Florida, who is the only other team who has hosted Howard on an official visit. So when Howard announces his commitment on June 24, he likely will be deciding between the Bulldogs and Gators.

No official prediction has been made in Howard's recruitment yet, but the above comment from May does make it seem like Georgia should expect some good news when his commitment is made on Tuesday. So be sure to pay close attention to this recruitment, because it is likely that more concrete intel will come out this weekend as Howard's commitment date draws even closer.

But as it stands today, Georgia fans should expect UGA's recruiting momentum to continue with yet another commitment from Howard on Tuesday.
